How Do I Install the ProDrain-70?

ProDrain-70 Surface Water Outlet Installation

  • This device is to be installed only in sediment basins designed for surface water outlets and that conform to all Local, State and Federal regulations and guidelines. Typical installation drawing is attached

  • Install the flexible pipe to the basin drain pipe by gluing to the appropriate adapter coupling. The flexible pipe has 3” PVC couplings attached.

  • Glue a 3” PVC pipe (ASTM F-891-09) 3ft 6”(not supplied with kit) long to the flexible pipe. The length is critical to maintaining calibrated water discharge rates.

  • Set the adjustable slide on the device as per the included design chart so proper retention times are set for the basin size. Slide marks are at 1” intervals starting from the tee. To set the slide at 6, position the slide edge at the 6th mark from the swivel tee. Note: The 1” x 4” slot is to be oriented up as shown.
  • Install the debris screen and lock in place with the supplied screw.

  • Glue the slotted drain tube to the 3” PVC pipe insuring the device is level. This is necessary to insure calibrated drain rates.

  • The device should rest on rip/rap rock level with the basin outlet. Clearance under the device for the debris screen should be maintained.

  • The device should be inspected periodically for debris build up on the screen.
